Holistic Care for Sustainable Healing and Empowerment Program – HOSCHE
The HOSCHE Program is a child and adolescent-centered initiative of REHOCT designed to support children and adolescents in Magu District who are living with grief, emotional pain, mental health issues, or difficult life experiences
HOSCHE Program Key Objectives:
a) To help children and adolescents process grief, trauma, and emotional distress in a safe and supportive way.
b) To strengthen emotional well-being, spiritual values, self-confidence, and resilience.
c) To provide structured psychosocial support that promotes healing and recovery.
d) To help children and adolescents develop healthy coping skills for managing stress and difficult experiences.
e) To support grieving and vulnerable children and adolescents in building life skills that guide positive choices and personal growth.
f) To encourage positive self-identity, moral and spiritual values and restore a sense of hope for the future.
g) To strengthen school engagement, academic performance and support children and adolescents in their learning journey.
h) To prepare out-of-schools adolescents into productive and self-reliant individuals through
entrepreneurship and practical skills and empowerment opportunities.
HOSCHE Program Key Interventions:
Under this core program, we aim to implement the following interventions for the attainment of complete and sustainable healing, well-being, and a brighter future for grieving and vulnerable children and adolescents in the Magu district:
a) Psychosocial Counseling, Mental Health, and Emotional Healing Support:
We provide professional and caring support to help children and adolescents cope with grief, trauma, and
mental and emotional challenges.b) Safe Spaces for Healing and Trust:
We create safe, welcoming environments where children and adolescents feel protected, valued, and able to express themselves freely.c) Memory Book Clubs Activities:
We help children and adolescents to share their experiences through storytelling, art, crafts, drama, and socio-economic interventions to support healing, self-expression, and self-development.d) Sports, Arts, and Creative Activities and Talent Development:
We use sports, play, and creative activities to promote good health, confidence, teamwork, and talent development.e) Life Skills, Leadership, and Mentorship:
We equip young people with essential life skills and provide mentorship to help them grow, lead, and make positive choicesf) Spiritual Growth and Values Support:
We support children’s moral and spiritual development through spiritual counseling and guidance in collaboration with faith-based partners, respecting all beliefs to nurture their faith, hope and purpose.g) Vocational and Entrepreneurial Training:
We provide practical skills training for out-of-school youth to help them build livelihoods and become productive and self-reliant.h) Basic Needs Support:
We assist vulnerable children with essential needs such as food, clothing, and other daily support.i) Education Access Support:
We help children access education, learn and stay in school, and succeed in their learning journey by tackling all barriers facing them in their access to education.
